Adverse Weather or Operational Delays

Gaping Gill is fed by an active stream and reacts to heavy or persistent rain. In extreme cases there may be times when we must suspend winching operations or apply adverse weather restrictions, these are monitored as dynamic situations by the overall Meet Leader and Day Leaders.

If forecasts show delays are likely in advance of your visit, we may contact you prior to your booked day to inform there could be delays and potentially offer alternative options.

If there is a delay due to adverse weather on the day of your attendance, then the following will apply:

  • An alternative day or time will be offered should one be available. If a suitable alternative is not available and the adverse weather restrictions have not been lifted. Then a refund will be given.

Should a delay occur due to a mechanical problem or any other event outside of the BPC’s control then the BPC will endeavour to rearrange your descent for an alternative date, if no suitable date can be found then a refund will be given.
